Mobile backup disk?

I was just checking my disk with Whatsize and found that a volume named Mobile backup used 37 Gb.

file://localhost/Volumes/MobileBackups/

Then I repaired permissions and verified disk and suddenly it changed name to

RYeMpxt3n3o-5mkvt8COPj

Time Machine is set to use an ext drive, so why do I get this backup as well ?

One of Lion's new features is called Mobile Backup which acts as a TimeMachine safety net when MacBook users aren't connected to their drive. If you Enter TimeMachine you'll see both white and purple lines along the right side of the screen. The purple lines designate TimeMachine backups and the white lines Mobile backups. Mobile backups are designed to take up only a small portion of your hard drive.

As dwb says, those are extra, temporary backups so you'll have access to them while you're away from your normal backup location.

In most cases, do not worry about them. They're "thinned" automatically, down to one per day for a week, then deleted. And they'll be deleted as necessary if your HD gets over 80% full.
