Dell 966 printer software won't autoload/install on my iMac. How do I open and install?

Am trying to connect an iMac to a Dell 966 I've had for a while (originally purchased to go with a Dell laptop). When I insert the disk, it doesn't initiate the install sequence. When I look through the folder options, no default application is recognized to open them. Is their an application I can open them in to install or are the systems simply incompatible? I contacted Dell support and they said, contact Mac to resolve/troubleshoot.

Your Dell was never designed to work with OS X, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but if you will probably need to replace the printer. Look on the disc you are inserting, it should say what operating systems and versions it is compatible with.

Have you ever used this printer with your iMac?

Its specfications require Windows 2000 or XP, so its CD-ROM may not be recognizable by OS X.
