Hi I have trouble getting to the rear of my desktop to fit usb flash drives can someone recomend an extension cable or hub to buy. I have a Mac using lion.

A short extension cable should work fine for a single low power USB devise.

Example:

Amazon.com: AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (3.3 Feet/1.0 Meter): Electronics

However if you have multiple devise's and need more ports, then a self power 4 or 7 port USB hub should be used instead of a bus powered USB splitter hub.

Example's:

Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub F5U233-APL

FireWire, USB 2, FireWire + USB Expansion Hubs

I have had excellent service from a kensington K33118B USB hub. It is powered so everything works as expected.
