Ipod Mini battery replacement

if i replace the battery for the mini( which im getting close to having to do)for my mini's battery is constantly draining faster and faster with each charge. What im getting at is: if i replace the battery, will the memory of my songs be lost?

Yeah for some reason mine cant keep a charge... for a moment it shows the battery fully charged then completely dead with it saying the battery is dead... in the past when i reset my ipod...it worked but now... it doesnt and recently it made a funny noise... well I stopped updating it... I didnt update it with the latest update... the one that will lower the volume...

yes mine did.. new battery did not work..charged up and the same problem.. this does not seem battery problem but ipod software

yea if the battery gets replaced than you will loose all of your songs on your ipod.
