Songs Won't Show up on Itunes or Ipod

I was messing around with my ipod today and tried to drag a file into the ipod using the windows explorer. Now my ipod will not display and songs, even though it displays the same amound of disk space as when i had all the songs on there. Can anyone tell me where my songs ares?
