Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep

Hi,

In the recent release for Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 "Resolving a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep" was supposed to be resolved, not so at my end. Has anyone else encountered the same issue and if so will there be a resolve.

Thank you

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Hi,

This is an amend to my first post. I have done a little extra home work. Just to clarify what I am experiancing vs. what others are. I am not getting error messages or any major OS X Lion issues with my Wi-Fi.

If I leave Safari open and become busy and my iMac sleeps, when I return the Wi-Fi indicator reshuffles, to me this should never happen and I am still working on it and I will post when it's fixed.

Others I read are having more serious issues.

If your issue is really weird, and you have the option, call iMac support at 1-800-my-apple (692-7753).

There is an updated version of the 10.7.3 update. When installing via Software Update, it installed 10.7.3 (11D50). If you install via the combo update, the release level becomes 10.7.3 (11D50b). Just did this update and wireless seems to work just fine, as it's supposed to, when waking from sleep.

Download the 10.7.3 combo client update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484 . Before you apply it, bring up Disk Utility (on your hard drive in applications/utilities) and repair permissions. Run the combo update (takes around 15-20 mins) and after the system reboots, repair permissions again.

Hello BGreg and thank you for your answer,

I have alreadty read about this solution, and tried it.

I downloaded the 1.2 Go file, and applied it. And repaired permissions.

Everything went fine.

Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem.

Meaning that when iMac wakes up, it doen't join my WiFi network.

I have to do it manually.

I don't know what to do : it is very strange because I never had that problem with OS 10.7.2 !

And my network setup has never changed.

another info :

I noticed that in the network setup screen, when I want to close the little lock to restrain further modifications, it won't close. Weird !

Do you think I should call Apple Assistance ?

It's a shame that these wifi issues haven't been resolved. If you look at the most recent posts on this forum it's alarming how many relate to wifi problems.

There's a link to an article that seems to help some although, unfortunately, not everybody:

It talks about 10.7.2 but I can't imagine it'll do any harm trying it with 10.7.3.

I, too, had the same problem when updating to 10.7.3. Spent an hour this morning on the phone with apple care. Representitive seemed very eager to help. We tried several things and ended up reinstalling the operating system after everything else failed to work. So I'm back to 10.7.2 which seems to be working fine for now. After listening to others with the same problem, I'm just going to wait till Apple figures out what is wrong and wait for the patch or new upgrade.
