Resolve a Wi-Fi connection issue when waking from sleep

Hi,

I certainly have and was going to post when I saw yours. The network icon seems to scan like radar and then just gives up. My network is on the list and I have to manually select it. Annoying.

Even i am facing the same issue, my wifi nevers auto detects when back from sleep mode. i have updated to the newer version yesterday which was released on Feb 3rd. I dont have this issue in the earlier version.

There is an updated version of the 10.7.3 update. When installing via Software Update, it installed 10.7.3 (11D50). If you install via the combo update, the release level becomes 10.7.3 (11D50b). Just did this update and wireless seems to work just fine, as it's supposed to, when waking from sleep.

Download the 10.7.3 combo client update from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484 . Before you apply it, bring up Disk Utility (on your hard drive in applications/utilities) and repair permissions. Run the combo update (takes around 15-20 mins) and after the system reboots, repair permissions again.

I have alreadty read about this solution, and tried it.

I downloaded the 1.2 Go file, and applied it. And repaired permissions.

Everything went fine.

Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem.

Meaning that when iMac wakes up, it doen't join my WiFi network.

I have to do it manually.

I don't know what to do : it is very strange because I never had that problem with OS 10.7.2 !

And my network setup has never changed.

I noticed that in the network setup screen, when I want to close the little lock to restrain further modifications, it won't close. Weird !

Do you think I should call Apple Assistance ?

When you click on the apple on the menu bar, and about this mac, and more info, does it say 10.7.3 (11D50b)?

I called Apple myself and opened a case on this. They tried several steps that didn't fix it, so they collected some data for the engineers to look over.

It's a shame that these wifi issues haven't been resolved. If you look at the most recent posts on this forum it's alarming how many relate to wifi problems.

It talks about 10.7.2 but I can't imagine it'll do any harm trying it with 10.7.3.

I have done the same as well, they took some data and said they were passing it to their engineers as this was not expected behaviour. In the mean time I'm going to run that much needed extension to my iMac for a physical connection.

This seems like a New OS upgrade Glitch. Wait for Patch Or security Upgrade.

Im going to hard wire my iMac into my phone line by running a proper cat 6 extension rather than using wifi, just more reliable and probably faster to get that done than wait for a patch at this time.

I, too, had the same problem when updating to 10.7.3. Spent an hour this morning on the phone with apple care. Representitive seemed very eager to help. We tried several things and ended up reinstalling the operating system after everything else failed to work. So I'm back to 10.7.2 which seems to be working fine for now. After listening to others with the same problem, I'm just going to wait till Apple figures out what is wrong and wait for the patch or new upgrade.
