music videos won't stream from iCloud

Is anybody having issues with Music Videos not streaming to AppleTV? everything else works from the cloud to the unit (TV shows, audio tracks etc) but when trying to watch a music video stored in the cloud (any music video) I just get the spinning wheel??? has worked fine before, have also reinstalled the AppleTV from default incase it was settings with no luck. Everything plays apart from music vids 😟

Hi Matt,

I'm in the US...so apparently it's not limited to a geographic region, but it's not widely reported yet.

At least someone is working on your behalf. I've spent 10 plus hurs on this issue between my own troubleshooting

and Apple tech support.

It appears to be an iTunes/iCloud server side issue, but thus far I haven't been able to get anyone from Apple to

take ownership of the issue...though I have several case numbers.

One thing to be aware of is not to let them talk you into thinking its a MusicMatch issue. I've tried disabling

MusicMatch at Apple's suggestion...but o no avail for music video iCloud access.

I'll keep posting, and if I get the solution...I'll advise you.

Thanks for any help.

That have downloaded from the cloud ??!! In starting to think this is defiantly a server issue! Gonna keep trying to see if any more are available would b interesting to see if u have same results?? Hi Matt,

I spent nearly 8 hours over the last 2 days, between my own troubleshooting of my network, files, computers/devices and Apple tech support. Nothing worked except for deleting 1 video from my iTunes library and and downloading it again from my iTunes purchases to my iPad2. It played, but it did so becuase it wasn't in iCloud. I checked to see if the same video would play from Apple TV2...no success.

I have several open cases with Apple on this for iCloud, AppleTV2 and my iPad2....this far no knows anything to resolve the problem, and despite promises...no one has called me back. It looks like a server side issue t me, but I won't have time to deal with this issue anymore this week...but I will check in to this forum remotely.

I hope Apple comes up with a fix that doesn't invlve deleting the video and downloading them again.

HANG IN...

Hey Matt,

I spoke to Apple again today and was fortunate to speak to a tech person (Chris) who did seem to quickly grasp the issues and circumstances. Unfortunatelu, there is no resolution yet. At this point my case is still at the engineering level. At least I'm clear at my level that there is nothing wrong with my devices (Apple TV, iPad) or my local iTunes content.

Hope you're getting somewhere, and if so...I'd appreciate your update.

Thanks for your thoughts Winston Churchil 😉)).

However, the Apple tech support folks I spoke with at the Tier 2 level were not aware of this problem, at least here in the U.S.. It was only through calling and escalating has it become an issue. Even now its not clear if the resolution has any urgency. As such, I urge folks to call periodically to inquire on this issue.

What has your response been, if any, about what is happening?

Hmmm...Winston? It appeared from your previous posts, that your thoughts on Apple being aware of this issue was based on more than an assumption. Your optimism, while re-assuring, may have caused others not to report that there seems to a server side issue itch accessing iTunes purchased from iCloud.

If you're experiencing this problem, it will likely be helpful if you report it, otherwise

it will not be recognized as something that needs to be addressed.

...At least that's how it works in many areas of IT tech support.

For anyone having trouble getting access to iTunes purchased music videos stored in iCloud...PLEASE REPORT IT.

I'm not suggesting no one reports it. However from noting the problem being discussed in various other areas of these communities the problem affects more than the Apple TV and has reportedly been reported by numerous people already, which is why I chose not to. We also have a mechanism for reporting new technical issues via the community hosts as a higher level user in these communities.
