Cannot switch Logic Pro to 64bit
On a 2006 MBP, there is no check box to switch on 64bit mode. There is/are 2Gb RAM and the OS is snow Leopard.
Any ideas?

Two potential reasons:
Also: with 2GB of memory there is NO reason to run 64-bit applications. 64-bit becomes an issue with more than 4GB of physical memory.
Thanx for the response!
Sorry I didn't mention the version; it's 9.1.6. Maybe it's the CPU.
When you say, "64-bit becomes an issue", do you mean, "relevant", as in, "there is no benefit with only 2gb RAM"?
One of the main points of 64-bit is to access RAM above 3.7GB. As BB mentions, there's no performance benefit running 64-bit on a low memory system. Plus, if all of your plugins aren't 64-bit compatible, you'll be in a world of hurt.
Thanx for the responses, but I'm still trying to understand why the 64-bit option is absent.

Probably because you do not have a recent enough Intel Processor. What is the specification of your Mac?

Hi
Perhaps this will explain?
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP567
Logic Pro 9.1 and MainStage 2.1 require Mac OS X v10.6.2 or later and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor to run in 64-bit mode.
Later versions of Logic/MS need a later version of the OS, but if you don't have an Intel Core 2 Duo you are out of luck.

Note the difference...
There is a mobile "Core Duo" processor that is 32-bit only
It's the "Core 2 Duo" that is 64-bit capable.
Ahhhh! The "Core 3 Duooo"!! Got you! Thanx!
