Airplay Mirroring Causing Router to Drop All Connections

All connected devices to my router lose connection when i try and use airplay with mirroring with iPad 2 and ATV 2.

Mirroring also stops working after a few seconds due to connection lose and im forced to restart router (Linksys E4200 V1)

Airplay for music via 3gs works fine.

Thoughts?

I have the exact same issue. I also have a Linksys E4200 with the latest updates and it will crash when I attempt to mirror from my iPad 2. It crashes the route!! I'm extremely unhappy with the Apple TV. I've had it for over a year now and with each software update it has gotten worst with slow downloads and crashes. At this point I can't recommend the Apple TV to anyone until these problems are corrected. Sorry Apple, but the Apple TV is working per your advertisements.

Has anyone else had the same problem with a different router?

Wondering if this is ATV 2 issue or Router issue.

I have had some stability issues after connecting my USB drive to router.. basically the same thing was happening until I got the right format for the drive and some permissions setup.

But I get this Air Play issues with or without the drive connected. I personally have a feeling this is router issue over ATV and iPad2.

Try googling /E4200 Airplay/. I've posted the workarounds in this forum several times, and I got it from the Cisco forum months ago. You can turn off WMM in the QoS settings, or you can reinstall an earlier firmware like 1.0.0.1, which is what I recommend. I just wonder if this is going to be fixed in the new firmware to be released in March that will address the WPS vulnerability.

There's an even better fix that's come to light recently:

http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/E4200-reboots-everytime-I-use -AirPlay-between-MBP-5GHz-mode-to/m-p/502208#M225114

Applications & Gaming -> QoS -> WMM -> ENABLE IT

Administration -> Management -> CTF -> DISABLE IT

Works fine for me! And according to the message after the one I linked to, disabling WMM takes out the N band, so it's best avoided.
