Thanks! It makes me feel better, because my own last posts are there. I just am not allowed to move on to the branched off to a new discussion thing. They didn't delete anything that I put up! But, maybe somebody else did and the whole discussion was discontinued. It was a LOT of bellyaching over Mobile Me Gallery loss, and people were grieving, angry, etc... A lot of people were actual photographers, etc. There was a lot of "try this site," "try that one, etc." So, with what you said, I feel like they didn't just kick me out for something I said. I hate it when I've done something creepy! I've read and re-read my posts & didn't do anything wrong. I made one sarcastic "Thanks Apple." comment, and maybe that did it. But, others have said FAR worse than that on that community. I'll let it go, but since I didn't get an email yelling at me, or kicking me out, I will stop worrying about it. I was afraid to ever post much again in any community. And, I'm going to need some help when I'm pushed to let go of the whole Mobile Me thing, and make the change. So, I'd like to be able to ask for help. I just have a lot to move around, and it'll take the time I have left until Mobile Me is killed off.  You and Steve359 above have really helped and been very kind. Good folks out there... Thanks again.

Asking how to handle the transition from mobile me, or if it even must happen, is a valid question.  Feel free to post it under the proper MobileMe Forum.

I think I know what might have happened. I actually moved about two steps off topic. It was related, in terms of a new site for the galleries, but I did get off on a technical problem I had with Aperture. I bet that was it. Hard lesson, but well learned... I bet that was it.

61 when? I turned 61 on October 23rd. Doubtful you got kicked out if you did not get an email. Please don't brag about getting a ClueBat warning unless you actually got the email and you were the target. Those of us that have actually earned those do not like n00bs taking credit when they didn't commit the offense.

    Consider yourself warned!

    Umm,

Been a while (several software versions for the, now, Communitites ago)  that that happened to me.

Have always "lost" contact with some threads and posts that I have subscription emails about.

March 2, the big 61... I don't know what a ClueBat is! However, something weird happened today with this situation of not being able to get into the community. I'm back in discussing pros and cons of different alternatives for Mobile Me Galleries. I was able to access it, but don't exactly know why. Nobody seems to mind my being there. And I never did get an email kicking me out! So... what's up with this? And, I am duly warned....

I think we may have a technology terminology issue here.

"The community" = Apple Support Comunities. i.e. everything here after you login.

A forum is an area of concern, like iPhone, iPhone Hardware, Using Apple Support Communities, which is the one we are now in.

Below that you have threads. This reply to you is in a thread.

So you turned 61 in 2011 or you are about to turn 61 next month?

That's not my reading of this brave new world after looking at the various index pages from top (Communities in the plural) down.

A community is an area of concern, like iPhone, iPhone Hardware, Using Apple Support Communities.

Below that you have discusions. This reply to you is in a discussion.

(Although I still think Discussions, forum/subforum, thread.)

I'm old, I don't change easily. Actually I think the incarnation prior to this was the way you described it also.

So do I - must be too old to grasp the new terminology....

And when asking to relocate a post/thread,  I've been clever enough to avoid using the terminology: I just say something like "please move to correct (iPhone, iMac...) area........"

I'm old enough not to care about being bloody-minded awkward.

I avoid the issue when reporting a post for relocation by making a terse comment on the lines of "10.6" or whatever. That's where I know where it ought to be; I am too old to know (or perhaps want to know) about iToys.

However I take heart every time I see the URL of  discussions.apple.com. At least some things seem immutable

    Hi,

    Pic first

ichat connection problems with lion: Apple Support Communities
    Uploaded with Skitch!

I use Threaded view which shows linked replied staggered or "Stacked' to the right under each other.

If the post by Zebulun was deemed to be the Offending one (It is only used as an Example of the order stacking) then the Hosts would move it to a place where the regular users of the boards cannot look. (Branched)

That Poster (Zebulun in my hypothetical) would get the Cluebat Email from the Hosts and my reply post would also go as it is linked.

NOTE.  ClueBat™ Posts can come from other posters trying to get the point across in certain circumstances (See http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cluebat

The Hosts moving a particular Posts and any linked to it can actually move post that have been marked Useful or even Helpful which can hide some posts from you if they are yours.  (They are not deleted so that you don't lose points)

In some cases a Post you are replying to can get moved whilst you are typing the reply and you suddenly find you get a Message you cannot post when you hit the Post Button.

Example Email I once had.  Paragraph 1 addresses the issue, the rest seems to be standard inclusions
