iCloud mail has been down for 36 hours for me. Error message says either username or password is incorrect when I try to access mail. However that is not true as I can log in to iCloud via www.icloud.com with no problem. Everything except mail seems to work fine. Apple's iCloud status says everything is fine - but that is clearly not true! I have reset my iCloud password (which is a .me address) but that did not help. Very, very frustrating. I need to urgently access my email. Does anyone have a solution? Is anyone else having the same problem? Thanks...

My mail is working fine, but my partner's icloud mail is down across all his devices, and he can't even access it with Safari by going to the icloud site. He is always told his password is wrong. He tried changing the password, but that didn't help at all. What's going on?

Sorry not to be of more help. I also heard that the Apple Store's genius bar will not help with iCloud problems. Is that true?

Me too. It has been 3 days since I have no access to iCloud mail. No matter I check it on iCloud.com, Mac, iPhone or iPad, the mail app says I have incorrect password. Specifially, when I check email on my Mac, the message below appears and prompt me to type in the password. I am sure that I've entered the correct password already.

The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “my user name

Enter your password again or cancel.

Staying away from email for a day is OK, but definietly not for 3 or 4 days. Someone, please tell me what to do. If it has to do with the servers, Apple, PLEASE FIX IT ASAP!!

tszheichoi,

Has anything improved on your end? We have the same situation here, and I'm not sure how to get help. When I try to go to the Apple 'Express Lane' for help, it wants a hardware serial number, even though this is an iCloud problem, not a hardware problem. I enter a hardware serial number -- for example, for my iMac -- because I can't proceed without it. It then tells me I will need to pay for one-time help because my iMac is not covered.

The problem is not with any of my hardware, it's that iCloud Mail will not accept a password, on any device, or through Safari on the website. Changing the password does not help. We aren't in the U.S., so no 800 number is of any use. I understand the Apple Store Genius Bar doesn't assist with iCloud problems (is that right?)

I honestly have no idea what to do, but I'm very tired of this. Even if we did something wrong and it's our fault (which I don't think is the case), we ought to be able to find documentation which will help. But the troubleshooting pages are of no help.

What to do!?

Sadly, nothing has improved so far. The same dialouuge pops up everytime I want to get email. Mail on iCloud.com and all my iOS devices hasn't been working since last Friday. I am getting increaisngly frustrating. As far as I know, the situation is mounting with more and more people experiencing this issue. I have been scrolling through forums, yet there isn't a single definite answer. Some say Apple has changed the server in the background and so the setting in the mail app has to be changed. But I don't think that is the reason. For one, if so, Apple would have told us. For two, I have changed it and... well... no result. Just for your information, the forum pointed me to this address. Try it out yourself and see:

I also tried to delete and add back my inbox in the mail app. The process was smooth until after the setup wizard. iCloud sync all my notes, all the emails that I've put in folders (I have a folder to put all my old emails) and junk mail (yes, junk mails) to the mail app within minutes. Those emails can be read and everything seems normal. BUT nothing is in the "inbox", which is what I need!!!

But the point is that... iCloud system service reads:

All services are online.

WHAT?!

I've been having the same problem since Friday. My iPhone keep telling me my username or password is wrong everytime I try to download my emails (or get pushed to my device) from the server. I tried everything possible, even restored the phone to factory settings and i still get the same crap. it's extremely FRUSTRATING!!!! FIX IT!!!!
