Dead Wireless Mouse - will the keyboard be next??

Apologies for starting a new thread on this - I know I've read previous users problems with these but can't find the solution sin the archive.

I've had no hassle with my wireless mouse and keyboard that shipped with my G5 iMac in Nov 05 - that is until the batteries died in the mouse and now the mouse won't work with the new batteries. Any suggestions?? Are these mice/keyboards disposable?? I'm loath to switch back to a wired mouse (although I have to at present).

Are they Alkaline batteries, or Lithium as came with the mouse? If they are Alkaline, its not surprising. If Lithium, somethings up, but since you've had no prior problem with the mouse, I'd guess its with the batteries. I now use rechargeable, and go for 6 wks or so between charges, having extras so I can re-charge as soon as I see the ones in the mouse/keyboard getting down around two bars charge.

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Hope this helps,
Jeff
