I know that you have posted this over two years ago but the same thing happened to me after using the rollercoaster effect. My camera was very dark and yellowy, almost as if it had a sepia filter on it.
The way I solved this problem, was simply by opening up photobooth and using the rollercoaster effect again. Shortly after I used the effect, the camera quality went back to normal!
Hope this helps with you or any one who has the same problem.
