Logitech bluetooth speaker adapter kaput since update

Since the new Mac OS X 10.7.3 update, my Logitech Bluetooth speaker adapter has not functioned. When I choose to use it as my audio device, there is a very long pause and then I receive the message "A Bluetooth audio error occurred." (Normally, I wait through a short pause after which I hear a beep from my stereo speakers that tells me that the Logitech adapter is working.)

This device has been working fine since I bought it two months ago. It hasn't worked since the update.

I'm running a MacBook Pro (2.2GHx Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4GB 667 RAM).

Anyone else having this problem? I am not sure if this problem is directly related to the update. Just looking for info right now.

I removed the device, but the Bluetooth Setup Assistant could not find it when I tried to "discover" it again. I moved the laptop closer to the device and that did not help. I turned off Blue Tooth and restarted Blue Tooth. That did not help. I turned off the adapter and restarted it. It was still undiscoverable. I restarted my laptop. The device was still not being discovered by Blue Tooth Setup Assistant.

The name of the adapter is Logitech "WRLS SPKR Adapter, BT" Model S-00113.

I am also using a Targus BT mouse and an Apple BT keyboard. Both the keyboard and mouse have worked flawlessly. For the past two months, all three devices have worked together. It's only the Logitech adapter that is not working/discovered.

Hey all just confirming that the same thing has happened my end with an update (although mine is now 10.7.3 though I may have missed 10.7.2 update). Updated yesterday (NZ 17/april), hav had problems this morning and now "(6F) logitech bluetooth adapter" fails to pair. What I've seen is that it pairs momentarily, then disconnects. Using method above by natone I am able to "update services" and the connection holds. Other than using that technique it wouldn't connect. I tried disabling BT in sys preferences, disconnecting logitech device, restarting mac, refinding and pairing of devices (which says "congratulations.... paired... blah"), usual trouble shooting.

The BT adapter is my only method to play my mp3s through a semi descent hifi system. The internal headphone out jack received a jolt with a lead in it and has never let music play through it since. Apple people diagnosed this as a potential logic board failure with replacement estimated at $700USD! The concept of bluetooth audio came to me one day, sure enough, the product existed. I've been using the same as above and carl and have to say the update has somehow broken my bluetooth. Is there a method to remove updates i.e roll back before the problem began?

Many thanks and that

Rolling back an update? EASY! Just wipe the disk and install the backup you were supposed to do BEFORE installing the update..... 😝

As for problems with Logitech or any other non-Apple gear, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling their software? Maybe even upgrading to a Lion-compatible version while you're at it? Don't know for their speakers or headsets, but do have three wireless mice from them and have had to refresh the Logitech Control Center.

Yeah that's the spirit courcoul I just break things all the time and not used to baking up hahaha.

However, it's not controlled by anything out side of Bluetooth.. All it is is a BT receiver, with RCA left and right audio output or 3.5mm headphone jack output you plug in to speakers on amp etc and audio is wireless.. Maybe a BT update from mac?

Greetings everyone! I reinstalled Lion and paired my Logitech Bluetooth Headset at 10.7.2. But the system won't connect to it after updating to 10.7.3.

Finally I made my bluetooth headset work again. Here's how I did it;

1. In Preference>Bluetooth, remove my paired device. Reboot mac.

2. Deleted the following two files in Library/Preferences/

---com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

---com.apple.Bluetooth.plist.lockfile

(These files will be reconstructed by the system)

The system will ask for your administration password. Reboot mac.

3. In Preference>Bluetooth, pair my BT headset again and assign it to be the audio device. You may find the BT device not connected, then by playing a music or youtube video, connection should be established and sound is output.

4. Reboot to make sure BT headset work steadily(leave the BT headset turned on). But I encountered kernel panic and forced restart (twice!) Upon the third restart, I logged in, and BT headset worked properly.

The normal situation is, Mac automatically connects to BT headset few seconds after the headset is turned on. And I think we can just turn off BT deveice (whenever we don't need them) instead of disabling Bluetooth in Preference. Just leave the BT settings, so next time your Mac sees the BT device, it automatically connects to it.

I hope the above information can be helpful. Any comments are welcomed!

Please don't get frustrated 🙂 I have another findings...

In case of Logitech BT headset, it will automatically connect to present BT devices it last connected. For me, I frequently use BT headset among my Mac, smartphone and netbook. It was found that after disconnecting from the netbook, Mac doesn't connect to BT headset automatically. And this is how I establish their connection:

1. Turn ON BT headset. (And the netbook is not present so the headset won't connect to it automatically.)

2. On Mac, click the BT icon on the menu bar, select the BT headset as audio device.

3. Click the BT icon again and open BT preference.

4. Select your BT device on the list. Click "Update service" on the drop menu right to the + and - button.

5. You may see the BT icon on the menu bar shown as connected to BT devices. But the BT headset is not actually connected!

6. Just play any music via iTunes or youtube. This will make BT headset receive signal and establish real connection to the Mac.

7. You are all done! Before the next time I connect headset to the netbook, Mac always connect to the headset automatically.

Pretty wierd, isn't it? I explain this as a bug in 10.7.3.. For me BT function did not collapse upon this update, the way it functions just changed. So let's hope for 10.7.4, shall we?

Regards to everyone and all your BT devices 😀
