iMessage for mac

Is there now, or will there be in the future, an iMessage app within Lion that allows desktops to send and receive iMessages just like iPhones do?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)

No. It is not available for Mac.

No one here has any idea what Apple will do or when they will do it.

Hi

According to Apple's Mountain Lion preview, Messages will replace iChat, and yes now we can iMessage across multiple OS and iOS devices, and iCloud will sync them as well.

The beta version will stop running when Mountain Lion is out
