Hello Sue,

yes and no. 😝

You can swap two faces using the "clone" brush, if both faces are within the same image, and if the image has a border where you can temporaryly paste one of the face to save it.

To swap the faces between two images you need to temorarily combine both images into one - I simply do taht by printing both images side by side, and then I edit the combined image and crop two versions from it.

All this is really easier done in Photoshop or Graphic Converter.

Hard to believe this isn't something that was in the program, am I the only person that works between two photos?

Hello Sue,

i'd love to have that feature in Aperture too, but that is not what Aperture has been designed for. What you are looking for is "image compositing" - this is done by graphics compositing Programs like photoshop or Gimp, whereas Aperture will manage your image library and do the preprocessing of the images - starting with the raw conversion on to the enhanced image. If you want compositing, use a plug-in or export to an external editor.

That's not what Aperture is for. There are many image editing programs out there that do this sort of thing and do it well.

Aperture is a Digital Asset Manager (DAM) and digital image developer. These two things it does extremely well. I for one am glad it isn't cluttered up with the functions performed by the likes of Photo Shop or GIMP. A program that tries to be all tings to all people winds up doing nothing well
