Q: Access AirDisk with iCloud over Internet

I recently updated to AirPort Utility 6.0 and FW 7.6.1 on my APBs Latest Model. I have a hard drive plugged into it that I use for wireless backups (Time Machine) but also have some files on it. I want to know how I can access the drive over the internet? I believe this is possible with iCloud? If that's not true what does iCloud for AirPort Extreme even do? Because I have my iCloud email in Back to my Mac but how do I use it?

Mac OS X (10.7.3), AirPort Extreme Base Station 5th

It doesn't let me access it over the internet. Well, it doesnt appear in the sidebar under "Shared" like the article says. I can see it and access it on my home network. But outside that I have no clue.

Have you also gone through the BtMM troubleshooting items that is referred to in the article?

I tried it... I can see it under shared in the sidebar but I can't connect to it. The connection might be blocked as it says "setup router for better performance" under iCloud settings in system preferences.

The BtMM error message is telling you that one of the routers between your remote location or at your home location does not have either UPnP or NAT-PMP enabled. Some non-Apple routers may have UPnP disabled for security reasons.

Your AEBSn uses NAT-PMP. To verify that it is enabled: AirPort Utility (v5.x) > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > NAT

The router in the remote location is the problem. AEBSn is OK. I guess I can't really do anything here.

I was planning on using it for cloud storage, better than the 2GB or 5GB offered by most popular online cloud services. I tried BitCasa, but all it did was corrupt my files over the week I used it.
