iTunes doesn't see iPhone

I have itunes 10.5.3 (3) installed and a iPhone 4 on iOS5.0.1 (9A405) running on Mac OSX Lion 10.7.

I plug in my phone, and nothing. Doesn't pop up in finder, itunes, or anywhere else.

I need music! How can I connect my iphone?

P.S. It pops up on my windows 7 pc... and all usb ports are working dont worry. And for anyone who might need this, to get to AppleMobileDevice.kext, right-click on applications in finder, click "Open enclosing folder," and Navigate to System/Library/Extensions

UPDATE: I read somewhere that if you delete your AppleMobileDevice.kext file it will work.. So I did. Now when I plug in my phone, it begins to charge and image capture comes up. But it still does not pop up in finder or itunes! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.

UPDATE: I get this line in console .app after I deleted, and put back the AppleMobileDevice.kext file:

com.apple.quicklook: ImageIO: <ERROR> CGImageReadSessionGetCachedImageBlockData *** CGImageReadSessionGetCachedImageBlockData: readSession [0x7fcb91610580] has bad readRef [0x10e62cd80]
