Q: After updating to 10.7.3 WiFi does not reconnect after waking up from sleep

Download the combo version of the update and re-install, or download the latest Lion install and re-install.

Sorry Lanny, but it does not help. I tried it, but still the same problem. You either have to choose your Wi-Fi manually or just shut off the Wi-Fi and then put it on again. When you do this, it will connect to your pre-chosen Wi-Fi. I think we have to wait for a new update.

iMac 21,5", i7, late 2011, Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 combo

I had the issue since the intro of Lion, including after the update to 10.7.3. But, after reading that

10.7.3 was supposed to include a fix for the wifi connection issue, I downloaded the 1.0.16 version of the installer and reinstalled Lion. So far, the wifi connection from sleep issue seems to resolved.

I did not have any such issues until the 10.7.3 version came. I reinstalled it (10.7.3) manually (by downloading the installer), but the wifi-issue still remains. Quite interesting, though; fore someones the issue have been present since the intro of Lion, but for me this is a new issue that came with 10.7.3. My iMac was delivered with OSX Lion. Is it possible that the CPU have soething to do with this? I have the i7 (4-core, 2,8 GHz).

Just to clarify, I used the full Lion Installer that is now at the 10.7.3 level, not the 10.7.3 updater.

I am now downloading the "full version" of the 10.7.3 from the App store. The only problem is that I probably have to pay for it. There was no message telling med that the copy is free because the system version is already running on the computer... But if it solves the problem, it is a quite low price to be payed.

10.7.3 was supposed to fix this issue experienced by some 10.7.2 users but not all

If you wake your machine using the mouse or keyboard it will not reconnect to the wifi

If you wake your machine using the start button it should connect to the wifi

I have tried all of the fixes mentioned in many threads and tried apple tech support to no avail

Any fix only seems to be short lived and the problem comes back

I restored my machine to the recovery HD rolling it back to 10.7.2 and all is now fine.

Looks like another bug with 10.7.3

The full installer has fixed it for me now. The update didn't do it, but the full installer did. I'm not talking about the combo installer, but the full 1.0.16 installer.

Keep us posted. If it lasts more than a few days you may be one of the lucky ones

The full install fix mine but after two days it started again

It's been about 5 days now. I do believe it's hardware related because it's only been an issue on 1 of my 3 Macs, a MacBook Pro 3.1. I have a MacBook Air 1.1 and a MacMini 3.1 that have never had the issue.

I noticed on interesting thing: I have a "La Fonera" wifi-router, whose private channel I usually use. but I also have on ADSL-modem with built-in wifi. Wen I changed the ADSL-modem to an other one without wifi, the issue disapperaed! It seems to me that the system cannot cope with more than one wifi-signal! Deleating the other station fråm the wifi-settings does not cure the problem.

I am downloading a new "full version" of the 10.7.3. Let's see if it cures the problem. It costs a little money (the App store does not recognize the system version on the computer and therefore one have to buy the new system, if the system was already installed when you bought the computer), but if it solves the problem it's OK.

Can't be a hardware problem, just because, NEVER had any problem with the 10.7.2.

The cause of this is affecting some computers and not all, probably is some OS bug with a Driver of especific WiFi card model.

Duh, that would make it a hardware problem. A Wifi card is hardware.
