i want to display my iMac screen on my mitsubishi tv. I have a "minidisplay to hdmi adapter to hdmi cord" i use this to hook up my macbook pro to my projector through the macbook pros display port/.

when i plug this cord from mt iMac's thunderbolt port to my mitsubishi tv, nothing happens no error signal no blue screen, just black

I've tried everything please hep
