I have a brand new 27" imac that I got for Christmas. The monitor is huge. But the problem is that everything is way to bright and washed out. When I look at web sites that have fields and forms, I cant see the borders. So either I cant see the edges of the boxes at all, or I can just carely see them.

I have tried playing with the only adjustment I can find on the mac and that is for brightness. Making things darker does help a bit, but that makes things look to dark. I would amost say its a contrast problem, but there does not seem to be a contrast adjustment anywhere that I can find.

Every now and then, things seem to change all by themselves. When this change happens, I can see shading. Boxes and forms on web sites look good. Its like on a printer when you set it to show shades of grey vs just black and white.

This is a very frustrating thing. Does anyone else have this issue and does anyone know how to fix it.
