bbciplayer won't install

Hi Just bought my first Apple product Mac Book Pro was assured in the shop that BBCiplayer would not be a problem to use and I have not been able to install it all. I am in two minds whether to take the laptop back as this is something I use my Laptop for a lot. Is there a solution out there?

You don't need to install BBC iPlayer. What problem are you having? What procedure are you following?

You do need to have Adobe Flash Player installed, and I think you need to be in the UK to access BBC iPlayer - I'm pretty sure that for copyright reasons the BBC blocks access to iPlayer outside the UK, though you can get round this by setting a proxy server in your web settings.

So created a new email account and BBC id, and did get a little further I got an error message after the installer started up briefly giving me the option to save or open BBCiplayer installer. The error message was:

'Adobe air installer had to quit unexpectedly'

It then gave me an error report to send on to Apple. THing is I already have Adove Air installed perhaps I should uninstall it and try again?
