I'm fairly new to my mac and recently upgraded to OS X Lion from snow leopard, and bought a rocketfish Mini display port to HDMI adapter so i could watch movies from my macbook to tv but for some reason i am not gettig any audio thru my tv Anyone know Y?

I'm fairly new to my mac and recently upgraded to OS X Lion from snow leopard, and bought a rocketfish Mini display port to HDMI adapter so i could watch movies from my macbook to tv but for some reason i am not gettig any audio thru my tv Anyone know Y?

Any help would be appreciated!! i started to read a couple of threads that said it could be due to the Lion upgrade, or possibly the tv being "confused"....it's got me all confused so i thought i would ask someone that knows what they're doing, unlike myself! 🙂

If you MBP is earlier than mid-2010 then you can't get audio through the mini-displayport. If it's mid-2010 or later then you can get audio through the mini-displayport. If audio has stopped working since the Lion upgrade (as happened to me) then reset the PRAM and SMC (in that order, i.e. if working after PRAM reset then no need to reset SMC).
