Also, do you have a nother computer to try to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

Edit: Okay now I cant seem to start the apple mobile service again. "The Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

When I connected my ipod touch (4th gen) to my laptop i get this error message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)." I tried replacing my itunes, connecting my ipod to different usb ports, search for how to get the problem fix which explain how I ended up here. Even when I plug my ipod in the wall it doesn't make the connected sound or show that it is charging. I left it overnight and it charged. I had another usb cable when I used it to conect the problem was fixed/gone. Dosen't seem we have the same problem but try using another usb cable and see if your problem can be resolved.
Double checked thread and you already fixed it. Post anyway maybe someone finds it useful.
