How do I import pdf books into iTunes?

So far, I've read through a bunch of other Q & A's and have gotten iTunes downloaded onto my PC. I have several books in pdf format on a cd that I would like to upload to my iPad. I can't seem to get them into iTunes so I can put them on my iPad. Could someone please help me with this? I really don't want to buy the books again. :(

Thanks!

Open itunes. On the top left is an option for 'books'. Drag your PDF files from wherever they are into that window.

You can also open iTunes and under 'file' choose 'add to library'. Navigate to the PDF files and choose them and let iTunes process them.

Then with your device selected in iTunes. open the books tab on the top and you should see your pdf's there. Choose which ones you want on the device and sync.

This solved my problem too. Thank you! iTunes wasn't letting me drag and drop the PDF like it used to, but invoking Add to library from the File menu did the trick. Thank you, Skydiver119!
