Will a usb wifi dongle work in mac G5

I have a G5 Mac Pro tower vintage somewhere around 2004-5 and I need to be able to access a WiFi hot spot. Will a usb adapter do the trick and if so what is good one? I understand it is too dificult to install an Airport Extreme card unless done by a technician.

What often happens with add-on Networking devices is that you run their little starter program, and it causes a new port-device to appear under System Preferences > Network. Then you often use the Apple tools to set it up.

But until you run their little program, there is not device to configure.

Once their device exists, use Apple tools to configure. It can be a little confusing.
