Will a macbook pro bought in china work in the uk?

Hello,

I am thinking about buying a macbook pro 13" in Shanghai. However, I am moving back to Scotland in the summer and have converns that some things will not work. For example, will the DVD player work and also will the socket at the mains be a problem. I'm a bit of a luddite so any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Kevin

You can change the DVD region, but after you change it the 5th time, it will permanently stay locked on that region: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2397. You can purchase an adapter for the plug and you will be fine. No need to worry if there is a difference in voltage at the power sockets, macs have built in auto switching: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1981.
