It would be great if you could possibly avoid using WEP since it is not secure.....easily cracked with free tools available on the Internet.
Have you checked the specifications for the DVD player to see if it might handle one of the flavors of WPA?
If not, do you have the model number handy of the DVD player so we can try to do some research?
Depending on what version of the Time Capsule you have, trying to configure it to use WEP is going to range from a hassle to extremely difficult. There will be no guarantees that the configuration will work since WEP password compatibility between different manufacturers is always "iffy".
Do you know what Generation of Time Capsule that you have?
Post back if you are not sure and we'll give you some tips to find out. Be sure to include info on the type of computer you are using and what operating system is installed.
The WEP Wireless Security option will only be available if you reconfigure your Time Capsule for one of the non-"n" Radio Modes. Otherwise, the option: WEP (Transitional Security Network), which handles both WEP and WPA-enabled wireless clients, will be the only WEP option available ... and may not work where "pure" 40- or 128-bit WEP is required. (Note: To "see" the WEP options, you will need to hold down the Option key while clicking on the Wireless Security field drop-down arrow.)
Thanks for the help I found that I have wpa and that it uses a pass word, which I know and used and everthing worked fine. I was looking for the WEP code like I used to use on my two wire router modem.
Thanks for the info. This is very good news that you were able to use a more secure setting for your network.
