Firewall Question

How do I confirm my firewall is working?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Do you have some reason to believe that it's not working?


Note that you almost certainly don't need a firewall, and may not be seeing it do much because there's not much for it to do. See Do I need a firewall?

Your article was interesting and reassuring. I visited this thread because I found out that my firewall has been off for about ten days and my heart was racing a bit. However after reading your article I was reminded that the firewall on our router probably provided adequate protection during that time.

BTW, I'm using Snow Leopard, not Lion. I found this thread via a related one.
