I can't find my harddisk on my mac...

Hi everybody,

I did a back up from my Ibook G4 with time machine 'cause a got a new" powerbook G4 (yes I now its soooo old 😁)

Now I want to set this on the powerbook but, each time I put the USB in the powerbook, the harddisk says "tiiitiiitiiitiii" and do nothing.

BUUUT the harddisk (philips) works on other computers and the USB inputs works really good with other stuff. What's the problem then? Any idea?

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Powerbook G4

PowerBooks don't supply enough power from just one usb port to fire up most external drives. If the drive came with a suitable Y connector cable use that to connect to both ports simultaneously. This may be an issue since one arm of the cable needs to be long enough to stretch all the way across the computer - they can be obtained. Otherwise if the drive has a dc in connector power it that way.
