Super basic question: how to make sub-bulleted lists formatted nicely?

Hi there,

This is a really, really basic question, so hopefully there is a simple answer. I'm trying to create a very simple presentation. Black text, white background, nothing fancy. I'm having trouble with sub-bullets. If I indent anything in a bulleted list using the Tab key, the bullet moves to the right, but the bullet symbol doesn't change and the size of the text doesn't change either. Instead of a list with sub-bullets, I have what looks like a bulleted list in which some of the lines are awkwardly shifted to the right a bit.

Is this expected behavior for Keynote? Does it not change formatting for sub-bullets? How can I change this behavior and/or change the formatting of all the sub-bulleted lines in my presentation at once?

Many thanks,

Adrian

According to the Keynote09_UserGuide.PDF, page 61 http://support.apple.com/en_US/manuals/#iwork

3If you want subordinate points in your list to have a different numbering (or bullet) style—this is usually the case with tiered (hierarchical) lists—click the Indent Level button to the next level and then select a new numbering style (or bullet style). Repeat this for each indentation level you want to set for your list hierarchy.
4To adjust the space between bullets or numbers and the left margin, specify a value in the Bullet Indent or Number Indent field.
5To adjust the space between bullets or numbers and their text, specify a value in the Text Indent field.
6To position bullets or numbers higher or lower relative to their text, use the Align field.

If you want the sub-bullet to be a differnt size or font or style, select the Master Bullet slide and make the changes there then create your slide based on the master. When you hit tab, you will get the bullets as formatted on the Master.

Good luck.
