MacBook Pro not waking up after 10.7.3

Question

This happened few times in 10.7.2. But now in 10.7.3 everytime.I usually have my external display connected to my MBP (Mid 2010, 13").But when I disconnect all external devices from my MBP and then put it to sleep by closing cover, there is no problems with wake up. But with external display connected MBP freezes everytime. MBP&#x27;s original display stays dark but keyboard backlit is on and on external display there is like a screen capture from the previous state before sleep. (I know that becouse clock shows the time that was when MBP went to sleep.) I can&#x27;t move mouse. Actually there is no cursor on the screen. And no key commands works. Only way is to shut down using power button. Is there any solutions to this? I don&#x27;t want to disconnect my external display everytime I want to put my MBP to sleep.

Hey hello, i just joined the community 🙂And i have a similar problem. I own a macbook pro 15" 2011 and it&#x27;s connected to an external monitor (mini-display to VGA) , connected together with a usb hub for my keyboard and mouse and on the other USB port my audio interface (Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 (for my music productions). when i close the lid and open it after some time it&#x27;s fine. BUT when i let my computer to sleep (when i sleep) for about 10+hours or so my screen on my macbook won&#x27;t do anything and on my monitor i have a dark screen with my cursor (that i can&#x27;t move) and a white &#x27;thingy&#x27; on the bottom ( like you see on old televisions when there&#x27;s no signal (gray screen)). I had it once before and my system was 10.7.1 ; then i forced the computer to shut down.Now (today) i opened the lid and it was the same. I recently updated my system to 10.7.3 and there was a screen after the usual black screen (described above) with a kernel panic dialog. I did little bit of testing and I discovered that my problem occurs if I put my MBP to sleep (with keycommand cmd-alt-eject or from apple dropdown menu) and instatly after that close the cover. But if I wait about 10 seconds after sleep before closing cover, there is no problems when waking up.

I also have this problem.  The computer will briefly wake up when I open the cover then go back to sleep.  It&#x27;s like it is confused about the cover being closed when it is indeed open.
