Siri doesn't answer basic questions

Just got the iPhone 4s yesterday so I am still learning how to use it.

However, I asked Siri to find the nearest restaurant. I was standing outside of one. And she couldn't find any. What can I do to fix that? Do I have to ask for specific restaurants such as Italian or pizza?

On the other hand, I asked Siri to find the nearest dog park and she located two courtesy of Yelp. Not the one that is closest to me though because it wasn't listed on Yelp.

So how do I tell Siri to search again using something different? Do I say, search the web/internet for dog parks or restaurants near me?

Any other tips, tricks, hints, guidance in working with this amazing piece of technology is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

tonefox has the right idea.

From my knowledge, the reason Siri can't access businesses and such from outside of america is due too country laws. America for example has all businesses on record and publicly accessable, which means Apple was able too freely add them too the Siri Database.

In places like Australia for example, too have a business name in a closed server that isn't public access, the company has too give consent, so Aus doesn't have fully functional Siri yet just because of our laws.

But as time goes on, Siri will be function everywhere, but always according too country laws.
