My audio and video are not syncing up when I record right in iMovie with iSight

I really hate that it's come to this, but I have no idea how to fix this issue.

Typically I record right in iMovie with iSight. I've never had an issue with my audio and video not syncing up before, this has only started to happen last night. For some reason once I'm done recording and imported it in, a yellow number appears in the bottom corner of my clip. When I go over it with my mouse it says "Indicates clip frame rate (17fps) is not a multiple of the current project (30fps)". Obviously this is why the audio and video aren't syncing up, however there's no way for me to go in manually and change it. I've tried putting it into a new project with a 30fps, and that does nothing at all to fix my issue. If I control-click on my clip and go down to "Project Properties", it has a "Frame Rate" drop down menu, but it's all greyed out so there's no way for me to even manually change it.
I'm using iMovie 11, and any help would be super appreciated!
Thank you~

(0) The Project Frame rate is set at creation of a new project. Like yours, control clicking my existing projects to look at "Project Properties"shows only the grayed-out frame rate you mention.

iSight's frame rate is set automatically by the software, so don't worry about adjusting it manually. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2264

Adding as much light as possible will give the best possible iSight image. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3097

Here are the things I would try (if you have not already) in order of increasing time requirements:

(1) Restart Mac, create a new iSight movie and test again. If the new one works, check the saved ones to see if they work now.

(2) Reset iMovie Preferences. If you need help, see the technique explained in this post:

Note that Lion users must hold down <option> key in order to see their Library folder in the Go menu.

(3) Restart Mac, use Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions, and then reinstall iMovie.
