I am making a photo book. When I go to preview the book, the photos on the cover and the back show white dots, and a black swath through them. I have tried substituting other photos but still the same problem. What is wrong?
iPhoto '11, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
if the preview is good order while in safe mode and then boot back to standard mode

I did preview it using that link. The preview shows the dots and black on front and back pages. I saved pdf, but dots and black show. Standard mode does not show any problems.

And did you do step one first? Boot in safe mode?

Perhaps I am not understanding what you mean by boot in safe mode? I previewed the book as described in the link you sent.

Booting into Safe Mode is restarting your Mac with the Shift key held down. Check the link for a more detailed explanation.. It takes longer than a regular boot.

Thank you. ONce I understood about safe mode, I booted into it, and the iphoto book no longer had the marks on the photos.
That's an ongoing problem with many users and the Safe Mode is one know workarond to get books ordered without corrupt photos.
