My iPod Touch 2nd Generation won't turn on anymore

I have had this iPod for about a year now, just enough for the warranty to expire, just as I was surfing the internet the spinning dial came up and it shut off. At first I thought it just died. I plugged it in and let it charge overnight, when I woke up it would turn on but all what would happen is the Apple logo would pop up then after about 30 seconds the screen would dim and another 30 seconds it would shut off. I took this to many dealer for troubleshooting including AT&T, Radio Shack, BestBuy, and Verizon but none could help me.Not because they weren't allowed, just they couldn't get to work. I tried to plug it in to my laptop, but that didn't work either. It doesn't even show up and it won't show up in iTunes. PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION I'M ONLY 15 AND DONT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO GET IT REPAIRED

Start with a simple Reset:

Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

If that doesn't help move on to Restore and then to Recovery.

Restore the iPad:

Recovery mode restore if needed:

i have had the exact same problem.

what you should try and do it plug it into your computer with apple ipod cable.

open up itunes and then press the home and the button on the top

this should lead the screen to show an image of the usb cable and the itunes image

if this happens, take out the usb from your computer and reinsert it.

the computer should load it and on itunes your itouch should load.

A message on the screen should show up and say Itunes has detected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used with iTunes.

if this message appears click ok.

then click restore. Hopefully all should work again - as it has for most people

however, a message saying: The ipod software update server could not be contacted.

This is what has happened to mine, so i think you need to take it into a shop and see if they can fix it. it may not cost to much money, and you may as well see if they can do anything. Hope this helped 🙂
