Publishing my first free book to iBookstore I am getting stuck in iBook upload icon in iTunes Producer. The book file .itmsp won't open or be dragged on the icon. It's dim. What am I doing wrong? The Preview on iPad works fine.

Same for me but then exported to ".ibooks" format and you can then open that.

To put the asset in your iTunes Producer, you can only use the iBooks format. So export from your iBooks author as iBook and then it will be selectable.
For the preview. You have to create a separtate book. Duplicate your book. Then remove chapters. Then export as iBook. Then select it from within iTunes Producer.
I have the same problem but I have done as told above. Still will not download even it is in iBooks format. I can't see a solution...
I can drag the iBook file to the box but it won't stay in the box - it slides back to my archive...
The error described in iTunes Producer is:
ERROR ITMS-3000: "Line 7 column 53: character content of element "publication_type" invalid; must be equal to "Book", "Textbook", "book" or "textbook" at XPath /package/book/metadata/publication_type"
Anyone whose having a solution...

I closed all programmes on my mac and had only the iBooks Author open. But I still couldn't drag iBooks files to the box. But then I tried to deliver the book again in iTunes Producer and it was delivered with succes. At least that was what Apple confirmed in an e-mail. Now I am waiting for the final aproovement by Apple.
