How to Reset Wiki Database - Or connect to Wiki Database

I've successfully installed OS X Lion Server 10.7.3 with all services & SSL but I forgot to make a backup.

Unfortunately I was messing around with the wiki web creator & changed/removed owners mid save from a non admin profile (doh!), now I have front web links to 4 wikis that have no back end & return server errors when trying to access them from the website.

As you can imagine I'd like to remove them.

The Wiki functionality is fine other & I have since been able to make another Wiki etc.

I don't have anything meaningful in there so a wipe script to reset the Wiki db would work or download & reinstall a new db, personally I like these option over digging through SQL tables for db entries & ID's.

I have been trying to connect to postgre with pgadmin3 to run a select query but I seem to be connecting to the wrong psql & don't know how to connect to the right one for the Wiki content. I'm not exaclty a db admin but I can follow instructions & use terminal, text editors, etc.

Any idea's?

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Lion Server

I found this which enabled me to execute SQL from terminal

But then found this & connected successfully with a 30 day trial of Navicat

I searched my Collab wiki database & removed all UID entries for my corrupted wikis & then deleted the corrupted wikis themselves.

Everything is running perfectly now

Hi jmacalister,

Given that the database entries (UIDs) appear encrypted or something, how did you figure out which table contained the entries and identify which UIDs relate to which projects?

Is probably something simple but when it comes to databases...I'm a beginner!

I did manage to connect with Navicat so can browse/edit with that.

Cheers,

Steve
