iPhoto '11 Quits Unexpectedly and Will Not Open!

Hello Gang!

I recently had a bit of a hard drive issue and had to get a new one. In doing so, I now have to reinstall all my software. I was able to move my settings and files over but not the applications. I've reinstalled iLife '11 and and trying to get iPhoto to open and it will not. I click on it... the window appears, spins for about 20-30 seconds and quits with the "iPhoto has quit unexpectedly" dialog.

I thought it was my library (maybe corrupt...) so I tried holding down the keys to force a new library... iPhoto creates the file then quits. I tried rebuilding my photo library... iPhoto seems to do it.. then quits.

I've deleted iPhoto, killed the preference files and the Support files... reinstalled... still quits.

I thought.... maybe it's ME. I created a new user, uninstalled iPhoto (cleared pkg files, preferences, support files), reinstalled... fired it up under the new user and... it quits!

The only thing I have not tried is moving my library to another computer and opening it there... but that seems pointless since I can't get iPhoto to open with a blank, pretty new database...

I'm at my wits end!

Here are my specs:
13" MacBook Pro 4GB RAM

OS X 10.7.3

iPhoto 9.2.1

Did you trash the receipts before re-installing?

To re-install iPhoto

1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)

2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.

2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type

/var/db/receipts/

2c: on 10.7 they're at

/private/var/db/receipts

A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.

3. Re-install.

If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.

If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.

If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
