The iPod uses standard USM voltag with is 5 VDC. Current can be between 500 and 1000 ma. Less than 500 is OK but charging will be slow.

AC is electricity from the wall, like normal household
BC is electricity from the battery.

The correct term for battery-supplied voltage is volts direct current, shortened to VDC.
3.3 watts is fine. I have used my iPad charger which is 10 watts.
