How do I remove QuickTime Player Launcher or reduce the amount of hard disk space this application takes up.

According to the utility that shows how your hard disk is used up by applications (Disk Inventory X), the QT Player Launcher is taking up 67GB of space.
If you read the background story, you will see why I suspect Parallels Desktop 7 of causing this.

The app is a lot smaller than you think it is.
You are misreading the information from Disk Inventory X. It's the data that could be opened by the app. Not the size of the application.
You must have a lot of QuickTime files on your machine.
I have made a few movies with iMovie and I have kept the clips. I will test by deleting them and see whether the space occupied by Launcher decreases.
I believe that you're right, that the space occupied isn't just taken up by applications but by data. I think that's the explanation for the 67.3 GB figure.
