My friend did something stupid while I wasn't there and somehow enetered my mac os x utilities mode. Now I can't use my computer like normal, the only choices i have is to erase and reinstall, disk repair etc, and restart from another disk. When i choose to restart from mac os x, it just brings me back to utilities! How can i fix this? Thanks |
Have you tried click on the apple in the upper left corner, Recent items, then click on the disk utility and when it appears, click Disk Utility on the menu bar and Quit.

Is your startup volume listed in Disk Utility? If not, your friend destroyed it. If it is listed, reboot and hold down the option key at the chime. Select the volume and press return.
i think it is.... but everytime i click to start up my mac os x disk, it just opens in recovery...
I think your friend wiped your boot drive, but I could be wrong.
What I am sure about is you need a new friend. Anyone that would do something like that is not your friend.

Select Startup Disk from the Apple menu. Is anything listed besides the Recovery HD?

This thread is more than a year old. You would be much better off to start your own, with a question. Include a history of the problem.
