My iMac keeps saying "Congratulations you won"

but I cannot find any ads or anything that would be playing that audio. Anyone have any idea what could be doing this and how I can stop it?

Hmm, then I can't explain it. Hard to pin down if it isn't reproducible.

Next time it happens, kill the browsers, disconnect the external speakers and switch to the internal speakers. See if the sound continues under those conditions.

You aren't near any strong radio station transmitters are you? 😉

Are there any radio amateurs nearby that may be "splattering" their transmissions due to harmonics in their transmitting frequencies (I.e., RFI -- radio frequency interference)? Of course if it was a HAM you wouldn't (or shouldn't) be hearing "congratulations you won"! On the other hand, commercial radio station could cause RFI too and you might hear that phrase from them. ... Just thinking out looud here.

yeah i've been trying for the past few days to pin it down lol

I re-installed chrome anyways just to see ig by chance that fixes it and if it does happen again i will try kill the browser and disconnecting my speakers.

Which was why I mentioned radio amateurs. But I also said you shouldn't ever be repeatedly hearing the phrase "congratulations you won" from a HAM (HAMs, like commercial radio stations, must adhere to their respective FCC rules and regulations).

true, but since uninstalling chrome i haven't heard it again so hopefully that was the problem. I'll post back if it happens again. Thanks for your help!
