can i purchase a sone from itunes and send it to someone else?
Well it's been almost 4 years and I've yet to figure out how to buy a song and send it to another person. On my iPhone, after I sign into iTunes, I can click on the price of a song but there is no drop-down menu, and no way to gift the song. It's amazing to me that no one has figured out an easy way for people to send each other songs.
It's very doubtful that Apple would let you sell an app that does it. You could try leaving feedback that they add it to iOS, but as it hasn't happened yet ... : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Thank you. While that makes zero sense to me, at least I now know (after four years) the double-secret Apple rule! It'd be great if Apple would let me build an app that facilitates the purchase and gifting of a song from iTunes. I'd be happy with 10 cents commission per song sold. If you are aware of the process, let me know what I need to do to get permission to do that!
Yup! If the song is just for them you can "gift it" to them, or just buy it normally and send it their way if you want it too.
You can't gift individual songs from an iOS device (only albums can be gifted on iOS), you need to use your computer's iTunes : Send iTunes Gifts via email - Apple Support
