What program can l use to make cards, presentation cards in my Mac? something equivalent to Corel Draw from Windows

I used to use Corel Draw from Windows to make cards, birthday cards, invitation cards, etc.

Now l want do the same in my Macbook pro, people told me Mac has something equal to Corel Draw. I wonder which program l can use to do that.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Explore the "Graphics & Design" category in the Mac App Store (in your Apple menu).

Adobe Illustrator for the Mac is more than equal to Corel Draw, but for the occasional card, it would be absurdly expensive overkill. I expect you'll be able to find something for under $50 that will fill your needs, and perhaps you'll even find something free that will answer.

Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/) is a free drawing package. Alternatively, consider ArtRage (http://www.artrage.com/) or SketchBook Pro (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6848332&siteID=123112) which are budget packages, or for a full-featured though expensive software package look at Adobe Illustrator (http://success.adobe.com/en/uk/sem/products/illustrator.html?kw=p&sdid=GQDQA&skw cid=TC|22737|illustrator%20cs2||S|b|9719587370).

Mary, I can't make out what the question is in this second post of yours.

What I suggested is that you go to the App Store, select the Graphics & Design category, and read about each of the apps that looks or sounds as though it might suit your purposes. You aren't going to find anything that does all Corel Draw can do for $50 or less, never mind for free, but you may find something much less expensive than Corel Draw or Illustrator that will do everything you actually need it to do.

I've used Illustrator for years myself, so I haven't experimented with anything on the App Store and can't recommend any of those programs from personal experience.

I used PrintShop for years. Here's the link to the Apple Store page on "drawing."

Also "Print Explosion" is good. It's included in this link:

iPhoto has a beautiful card making function, using your own photos. It's stunning really.

If you have iPhoto, it's free. If not, you can get it easily and cheaply via the AppStore.

You can also do photo books & calendars through iPhoto.

Also, Pages -- a program in iWork. I haven't used it, but those who have, love it.

I'll bet that's the one you heard about.

I just downloaded Pages, myself. It's $20 from the AppStore. I LOVE it. I think you will too.

Here are some videos as to how it works.
