More songs in iTunes than in iPhone... why?

Well, I really hate iTunes. I use it ONLY because it is mandatory for iPhone and there is no alternative. I continuosly have problems with it. The latest mistery occurred few minutes ago. Yesterday, in a business trip, I realized that my list of songs in iPhone was quite shorter than I remembered. I thought it was my fault, but when I connected the iPhone to my laptop, this morning, I realized that I had 75 songs in my iPhone->Music in iTunes but only 56 in the device.I synched three times: no way. Still 75 in iTunes and 56 in the iPhone. Is there a way to get all the 75 songs in the device?

PS. Is there a way to refresh the library in iTunes? It contains a lot of songs that not exist anymore or have been moved, and it is missing several new songs I added! I cannot find a refresh item in menu.

Connect your Device to Computer. Select your iPhone under "Devices" on the left Pane. On the right Pane, select MUSIC tab. Make sure SYNC MUSIC box is checked. Then click the SYNC button on the lower right Window.

If you have already done so and is still not getting those songs over to your iPhone, try uncheck "SYNC MUSIC" and click the SYNC button; let iTunes remove all music from your iPhone. After that, recheck "SYNC MUSIC" and click SYNC button, all music should go over to your iPhone this time.
