Pitched Rolls in Logic using Ultrabeat and Exs24!

Ok! This is the easiest way to make a pitched roll for Dirty South Hip-Hop beats. First, setup your roll in UltraBeat. Make it a couple patterns for 1/32 resolution. Pull those patterns to a track with Exs24 preloaded or load Exs24 after (It doesnt matter). Then, on UB hit Fullview to get to the Sample editor if you're in the pattern editor. On the bottom left you'll see a waveform. Click on the down arrow directly above it and to the left of the wav's title. It will drop down menu. Highlight "Show in Finder." The finder will open with the wav you chose highlighted. Keep that window off to the side. Click the Exs24 track and double Click Exs24 on the left side menu above the Channel Mixer. Hit edit to the top-right on the Exs24. Drag the Sample wave from the Finder window to the Edit window in the Exs24. Now, Unclick PITCH under the playback tab in the edit window. (Or you can change the key range but forget that for now.) Back to the patterns you created. Hit Hyper Editor and unclick auto define and fixed value on the left menu. Lastly, on status click pitch bend. Pencil tool and draw the pitch bend inside the Pitch Bend labeled channel. Hit space to play and you're done. You can Line Tool, also. Remember, once this is setup you can duplicate the Exs24 track and click and drag differnet patterns to the tracks or add different samples to the Exs24's. For example, snares on one channel toms on another and so on and so forth. Play around with this.
