Hey guys, Basically I have my Macbook Pro 2011 2.3 i5 8gb Ram... Im running logic pro 9.1.6 and i just bought a Allen & Heath ZED 24 for my home studio which has 16 inputs, however when i go into logic i can only use 1 & 2 :/ I had to cancel some sessions with a great session drummer in my area because i couldn't record more than 2 tracks at once.
Any help is muchly appreciated guys.
Oh and i'm running OS X 10.7.2
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)
hi, as far a i know can you only record a stereo mix with the zed.
i think you bought the wrong mixer.

So what would be the point of having 16 channels? :/ I'm so annoyed right now its unbelievable, and why can my colleges ZED R-16 record multiple channels?
Any advice on what i should do now would be great 🙂
The ZED-R16 is a "recording" mixer and has 16 channels I/O via Firewire. The ZED-24 is a "multipurpose mixer for live sound or recording" and only has stereo output via main outs or USB. You can only record 2 tracks at a time. As "Heiko_Britz" said above "I think you bought the wrong mixer" 😟

Any kit you know of that around the same price?
Or is there any external firewire options to hook up the desk to give access to all channels?

Would something like this Mackie onyx blackbird work?
For example if i was to buy a load of xlr splitters, could i plug my mics into my patch bay, then run the split xlrs from patch bay into desk and into the onyx and use the desk to get levels and the onyx as the input on my mac?
