A few months ago, I tried out this app and removed it after a while, was not impressed - but at this point I can't recall the details. I'm sure you'll get more details from others. I may not be remembering correctly, but doesn't the app NOT work if you lose cell connection since it doesn't store maps on the iPhone? Anyway, try it out and see for yourself.

The bad:

Only routes up to around 1000 miles. There are errors occasionally in my rural area. But the maps are more accurate than most of my other GPS maps.

The good:

You can search for an address, or a business name and get a route showing how to get there, using several different search engines. The routes will show if any delays expected enroute, ETA, miles left to destination, your current speed, traffic. You get map directions with turn by turn voice. Police can be reported, along with accidents and other delay causes. Waze has warned me several times of traffic delays and accidents on my route.

I run Waze almost everytime I am in a vehicle. The usage also helps correct the maps.

From inside the app you can let others know where you are and your expected ETA.

The new verson has voice control which I haven't used yet.

I use Waze almost daily along with Trapster and a Garmin NUVI. Both Waze and Trapster work in background mode and alert you.
