Can't access websites, "URL not found on server"?

I am having trouble accessing certain websites like Abobe for example. When I type in the url it comes up with this message:

"The requested URL / was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.21 (Unix) DAV/2 Server at www.adobe.com Port 80"
I don't know how to fix this. If anyone could help me figure this problem out I'd really appreciate it.
I have a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.3

Jeng, can you give a shot to this?

enter into Safari URL field:

http://193.104.215.61/

http://193.104.215.61:80/

And see what happens. This is an IP address of Adobe's website.

I've searched this discussion forum for "URL not found port 80" and am sad to report that you are not the only one with this problem. It almost looks like a bug.

I wish someone else would pitch in here with ideas...

Time to start compiling some cliff notes, so we don't have to keep re-reading while trying to crack this problem.

Alright, so I tried entering the IP addresses into the URL bar and both worked. I'd still like to figure out why I can't access it from the traditional way of entering in adobe.com though. But this is a good temporary fix. Good idea.

I have tried accessing the website on my computer from multiple different locations and I am still unable to access it.

I just did the Repair Permissions idea and so far nothing has changed. Should I restart my computer and give it a try?

I"m tempted to call it malware, except for the fact that it is supposed to do something productive. Unfortunately it is often installed in secret after pyggy-backing off other installations. I've noticed a lot of users have been having lots of problems when this Open-Sourced item is installed.

You may want to un-install it:

Guys.... It just probably because you have a crkd photoshop or adobe product installed. Check your /etc/hosts file and you will see that all the adobe's URLs are mapped on your localhost (127.0.0.1). Besides, when scanning the network for www.adobe.com you would have seen before the listed open ports something like:

"

Port Scanning host: 127.0.0.1

Open TCP Port: 80 http

Open TCP Port: 88 kerberos

"

. . . !

You can read an excellent description of the hosts file here: http://decoding.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/how-to-edit-the-hosts-file-in-mac-os-x- leopard/

It will help you also edit your file.

Or I think that you can also access it with the Finder on the following location: Macintosh HD -> Private -> etc

(if I remember well. I cannot verify to be sure I'm on my iPhone now)

I hope it helped.
